H.S. Volleyball Roundup: Lady Braves post sweep over C-FP

FONDA — Marilyn Whitcavitch posted 13 kills, three aces and one digs to lead Fonda-Fultonville to a 3-0 victory over Canajoharie-Fort Plain in a Western Athletic Conference volleyball match Tuesday at Fonda-Fultonville High School.

The Lady Braves won by scores of 25-13, 25-15 and 25-15.

Madisyn Dineen finished with seven kills and six aces for FFCS (5-2 overall), while Amber Cole recorded 20 assists. Carolyn Cranker added five aces for the Lady Braves.

Sarah Paradiso finished with six service points, four kills, three blocks and two digs for Canajoharie-Fort Plain (1-4 overall), while Kaylee Sanders had five service points. Samara Mattice added three service points for C-FP, which is slated to travel to Oppenheim-Ephratah/St. Johnsville today for a 6:30 p.m. match.

Fonda-Fultonville is scheduled to host Johnstown in a non-league match Friday at 6 p.m.

Galway 3, OESJ 0

GALWAY — Kylee Decker served all 25 points in the second set, including 11 aces, to help Galway sweep Oppenheim-Ephratah/St. Johnsville in a Western Athletic Conference match.

The Golden Eagles won 25-6, 25-0 and 25-14.

With the win, Galway clinched a WAC division title.

Decker finished with 35 service points, 15 aces and 10 assists for the Golden Eagles, while Diana Colangelo had six kills. Anna Dabrowski and Carolyn Bruchac each had for kills for Galway (10-3 overall, 8-0 WAC).

The Golden Eagles are slated to travel to Canajoharie-Fort Plain on Thursday for a 6:30 p.m. contest.

OESJ (0-4 overall, 0-4 WAC) is scheduled to host C-FP today at 6:30 p.m.

Duanesburg 3, Berne-Knox-Westerlo 1

DUANESBURG — Julie Wenzel finished with 18 service points and 10 assists to help Duanesburg to a Western Athletic Conference victory over Berne-Knox-Westerlo.

The Eagles won by scores of 25-9, 25-20, 22-25 and 25-11.

Hannah Borski recorded nine service points and four kills for Duanesburg, Grace Sexton had 14 service points and one kill, and Bridget Guernsey had four service points and three kills. Lorel Johnson added four service points and one kill for the Eagles, while Diana Esa and Rileigh Wilsey each had two service points.

Center State Conference

Dolgeville 3, Little Falls 2

LITTLE FALLS — Rylee Lamphere posted 31 digs, 23 assists, 15 kills and four aces to help Dolgeville to a Center State Conference victory over Little Falls.

The Blue Devils lost the first two sets by scores of 25-20 and 26-24 before rallying to win the final three sets by scores of 25-10, 25-21 and 25-17.

Brianna Bruce finished with 10 kills, 10 digs, eight aces and four blocks for Dolgeville, while Maighen Ehrle had 19 digs and three aces.

Mackenzie Farquhar recorded 23 assists, 19 digs and six kills for the Blue Devils, Madisen Gorinshek notched 11 digs, five aces and three kills, and Ashlynne Seeley added 23 digs, 12 kills and eight aces.

Jordan Baumeister had 25 assists, four digs, two aces and two kills for Little Falls (3-3 overall), while Claire Petkovsek had 13 kills, six aces and four digs.

Karlee Gullis posted six kills and six digs for the Mounties, Hailey Stoltz recorded 10 kills, two digs and two aces, and Alyssa Santos added five kills. three aces and two digs.

Dolgeville (3-0 overall) is scheduled to host Central Valley Academy today at 6:30 p.m.
