Carson Cotugno strikes out 12 in Amsterdam’s win over Patriots

AMSTERDAM — Carson Cotugno turned in a strong performance on the mound for Amsterdam as the Rams defeated Broadalbin-Perth 4-0 Thursday afternoon at the Rao Family Stadium at Shuttleworth Park.

Cotugno struck out 12, walked three and allowed three hits to get the complete-game victory.

Lead-off hitter CJ Durinick had a double and a single and scored twice for Amsterdam, while Spencer Cotugno doubled and Carson Cotugno singled and drove in a run. Andrew Spagnola added a single and an RBI for the Rams and Noah Marshall had a single and runs scored.

Migliocca, Jake Terwilliger and TJ Platt all singled for Broadalbin-Perth.

JOHNSTOWN — Cam Darrow allowed two hits and struck out 12 to lead South Glens Falls to a Foothills Council victory Thursday at Johnstown High School.

Darrow went 2-for-4 at the plate with a double and two runs scored, while Justin Nesbitt was 2-for-3 with two RBIs and two runs scored for South High (12-1, 12-1)

Dawson Sanges doubled for the Sir Bills.

Troy Butler had a triple, double and two RBIs for the Hilltoppers, while Stephen Gray had two singles, two runs scored and an RBI, while Evan Crouse added a double and an RBI to go with a double from Noah Horning.

Ryan Hiscock, Joe Moran, Xavier Pahler, Leigh Wahl and Patrick Civitello all singled for Notre Dame-Bishop Gibbons.

GLOVERSVILLE — After heavy rains forced stoppage of Wednesday’s game in the bottom of the second, Amsterdam and Gloversville picked up where they left off Thursday.

The Rams built on Wednesday’s 4-0 to finish the Foothills Council game with a 10-0 victory over the Huskies at Gloversville High School.

Jordyn Wozniak powered the Amsterdam offense with two home runs, two doubles, two RBIs and three runs scored, while Shelby LaMont homered and drove in two runs and Sydney Szczepanik had two doubles and two RBIs to go with two singles and two RBIS from Gaby Maroto.

Gloversville got three hits, all singles, from Jordan DeMagistris, Alana Biasini and Miracle Conyne.
