Mohawks extend win streak to six

UTICA — Matt Shaw was 2-for-5 with a home run, four RBIs and a run scored to help the Amsterdam Mohawks post an 11-2 victory over the Utica Blue Sox in a Perfect Game Collegiate Baseball League game at Donovan Stadium at Murnane Field on Wednesday.

The win was the sixth straight for Amsterdam, which scored five runs in the seventh to break the game open.

Stone Miyao was 2-for-3 with two runs scored for the Mohawks, while Keith Jones was 2-for-4 with a double, RBI and two runs scored. Brett Young had two singles and scored two runs for Amsterdam, Riley Langerman was 2-for-3 with an RBI and a run scored, and Bryce Eblin had a single and two RBIs.

Kyle Schmack had a single and an RBI for Utica, while Harris Williams had a single and scored a run. Ryan Enos, Michael Dallas and Daniel Helfgott all had singles for the Blue Sox.

Amsterdam (11-2 overall) is scheduled to travel to Oneonta today for a 7:05 p.m. contest.
