Schools: Hoefs leads Amsterdam/Broadalbin-Perth past Johnstown in girls’ lacrosse

Sydney Hoefs had five goals, three assists and 10 draw controls in the Amsterdam/Broadalbin-Perth girls’ lacrosse team’s 13-9 Foothills Council win Wednesday against Johnstown.

Payton Hoefs produced four goals in the win, while Annie Fedullo had three scores, and Julia Dion had a goal and an assist.

For Johnstown, which trailed 7-5 at halftime, Roslyn Chapin led with three goals. Molly Sweeney scored two goals, and Reagan Wilcox, Caroline Krempa, Nicole Simon and Jena Barker each had one goal.

Scotia-Glenville won 18-5 against Greenwich. Morgan Nichter starred with seven goals, Lucy Crounse added five, Karaline McCarthy scored three, Tia Jack contributed two and Kayla Canoe had one. Maya Westbrook made 17 saves in the win. For Greenwich, Mackenzie Dixon scored four goals.
