Amsterdam Mohawks down Albany for 20th win of PGCBL season

ALTAMONT – The top of Amsterdam’s lineup delivered on Monday in an 11-5 win for the Mohawks over Albany in a Perfect Game Collegiate Baseball League matchup at Dutchmen Field.

Leadoff batter Gage Miller finished 3 for 6 with a home run, three RBIs and three runs for the Mohawks (20-3). Brett Coker, in the number two spot, went 2 for 5 with a home run, four RBIs and two runs. 

Number 3 batter Mark Black drew three walks and scored two runs, while cleanup hitter Zach Gardiner had two singles in six at-bats.

Amsterdam had a 2-1 lead after the first inning, then tacked on two runs in the third, but Albany closed to within 4-3 after four. The Mohawks separated themselves by scoring seven runs over the final three innings.

Alex Brill homered and had two RBIs for Albany, which committed six errors.
