Several area athletes named Foothills Council track and field all-stars

Amsterdam High School track and field’s Garrett McHeard was named to the first team in shot put and discus on the Foothills Council track and field all-star team.

Several area athletes were among those named to the Foothills Council track and field all-star team.

Broadalbin-Perth’s Stephen Chrysler (long jump), Hunter O’Dell (triple jump) and Sam Hotaling (high jump) were named to the boys’ first-team, along with Amsterdam’s Garrett McHeard, who was named to the first team in the shot put and discus. Chrysler also was named to the second team in the triple jump, while Broadalbin-Perth’s Dylan Tyler was named a second-team all-star in the 110-meter hurdles and pole vault. Hotaling was named honorable mention in the 200, while Tyler was named honorable mention in the 400 hurdles.

Broadalbin-Perth’s Rylee VanAlstine (400), Amsterdam’s Joseph Santiago (1,600) and Broadalbin-Perth’s Landon Russom also earned second-team honors. The Patriots’ 4 x 100 relay team also was named to the second team. Santiago also was named honorable mention in the 800.

Gloversville’s Kazuma Lomanto (100), Johnstown’s Steven VanNostrand (high jump), and Broadalbin-Perth’s Connor Couperus (3,000 steeplechase), Dean Smith (long jump) and Antonio D’Aniello (pole vault) all were named honorable mention, along with the B-P 4 x 400 relay team.
Several area girls also were named to the Foothills all-star team.

Gloversville’s Zoie Tesi was named to the first team in the triple jump and high jump, while Broadalbin-Perth’s Erica Lin was a first-team all-star in the 200. Lin also was named honorable mention in the 100.

Broadalbin-Perth’s Victoria Tambasco was named to the second team in the pentathlon.

Broadalbin-Perth’s Emma Frasier (2,000 steeplechase), Gloversville’s Anna Murphy (high jump) and Broadalbin-Perth’s Sophia Tyler (pole vault) were named honorable mention, along with the Amsterdam 4 x 400 relay team.

BOYS

Queensbury had Bergen Caprood (100 meters), Ethan Langford (200), Tyler Harrington (800), Michael Kilgallon (110 hurdles) and Patrick Russell (3,000 steeplechase) named to the first team. The Spartans’ 4 x 100, 4 x 400 and 4 x 800 relay teams also earned first-team honors. Kilgallon also was named to the second team in the 100 and long jump, while Caprood was named to the second team in the 200. Langford was named honorable mention in the 100.

Scotia-Glenville’s Tyler Greene was a first-team selection in the 1,600 and 3,200, while Schuylerville’s Daryl Headen was named to the first team in the 400. Headen also was named to the second team in the high jump.

Rounding out the first-team selections were South Glens Falls’ Jordan Stevens (pentathlon), Scotia-Glenville’s Kofi Jack (400 hurdles), South Glens Falls’ Jacob Revell (pole vault)

Queensbury’s Jack Hicks (3,200), Samuel Demers (400 hurdles), Dylan Hall (shot put) and Kyle Hall (discus) earned second-team honors, while Scotia-Glenville’s Tyler Knaggs (800) and Finn Winters-Bona (3,000 steeplechase). The Tartans’ 4 x 400 and 4 x 800 relays also were named to the second team.

Queensbury’s Dylan Hall (discus), Chris Novick (pentathlon) and Shiv Patel (110 hurdles) were named honorable mention.

Rounding out the honorable-mention selections were Glens Falls’ Jack Bordeau (400), Scotia-Glenville’s Patrick Allen (1,600), Glens Falls’ Jack Putnam (3,200), Glens Falls’ Cameron Pratt (triple jump) and Hudson Falls’ Evan Krasniewski (shot put). The Scotia-Glenville 4 x 100 and Glens Falls 4 x 800 relay teams also earned honorable-mention status.

GIRLS

Queensbury’s Maddie Powers was named a first-team all-star in three different events, taking top honors in the 800, 1,500 and 3,000.

Schuylerville’s Nikki Stark was named to the first team in the 100 hurdles and 400 hurdles, while Schuylerville’s Meaghan Lynch (long jump) and Ryan Stark (pole vault) also earned first-team honors. Ryan Stark also was named honorable mention in the long jump.

Rounding out the first-team selections were Queensbury’s Danielle Hand (100), Alyssa Jones (shot put) and Payton Mehalick (discus); Scotia-Glenville’s Sage Luke (400) and Stephanie James (2,000 steeplechase); and South Glens Falls’ Petra Shortte (pentathlon). Scotia-Glenville’s 4 x 100 and 4 x 400, and South Glens Falls’ 4 x 800 relay teams also were named to the second team. Mehalick also was named to the second team in the shot put, while Luke (200) and James (800) also earned honorable-mention status.

South Glens Falls had nine second-team selections. Leading the way for the Bulldogs was Abby Seaman, who earned second-team honors in the long jump, triple jump and high jump.Isabella Sefcik (100, 200) and Payton Porter (100 hurdles, 400 hurdles) earned second-team honors in two events for South Glens Falls, while Lily McNulty and the Bulldogs’ 4 x 100 relay also earned second-team status. McNulty also was named honorable mention in the 1,500.

Queensbury had Danielle Hand (400), Julia Afsar-Keshmiri (800), Miranda Habschi (2,000 steeplechase) and Lilly Slattery (pole vault) named to the second team. Queensbury’s 4 x 400 ad 4 x 800 relay teams also were named to the second team.

Hudson Falls’ Lola Leonard (discus) and Schuylerville’s Kiera Rogan (1,500) rounded out the second team.

Queensbury’s Grace Russell (100 hurdles, 400 hurdles) was named honorable mention in two events.

Scotia-Glenville’s Angelina Regels (400), South Glens Falls’ Marissa Colvin (3,000), Trudie Herlihy (triple jump), Glens Falls’ Lexie Hammond (shot put), Scotia-GLenville’s Jo Jo Mustico (discus) and Glens Falls’ Helena Trackey (pentathlon) all earned honorable-mention status, along with the Queensbury 4 x 100 and Scotia-Glenville 4 x 800 relay teams.
