High schools: Bottisti’s two goals help Amsterdam top Johnstown in boys’ soccer

Marco Bottisti scored twice to lift Amsterdam to a 3-0 victory over Johnstown on Wednesday in a Foothills Council South Division boys’ soccer game.

Brodie McNeil also scored for the Rams, while Conner Meca and Nate Covey each had an assist. Alex Jablonski made five saves to earn the shutout for Amsterdam (2-1 Foothills, 3-1 overall). Maddox Pedrick made 15 saves for Johnstown (1-3, 1-3).

Jake Holland and Massimo Pasquarelli scored unassisted goals to lead Broadalbin-Perth to a 2-0 win over Gloversville. Connor Kohn saved eight shots for Gloversville, while Aiden Gladman stopped four to earn the shutout for B-P.

Austin Johns scored all three goals to lead Middleburgh to a 3-0 win over Galway in Western Athletic Conference action. Galway’s Ryan Pudney made six saves, while Ben Croote made six saves for Middleburgh.

Northville scored its first four goals in the first four minutes en route to an 11-0 victory over Canajoharie to improve to 5-0 overall. Jacob Frank had five goals, Landon Ginter had two and Miles Weaver had three assists. Will Douglas made 13 saves for Canajoharie, and Landon Frasier had five for Northville.

Trevor Ruberti, Christian Scunziano and Aiden Pierce tallied for Mayfield in the Panthers’ 3-1 win over Fonda-Fultonville. Estiven Lopez scored for the Braves, who got six saves from Sam Kosiba and four from Austin Arya. Sean Foreman saved seven for Mayfield.

Andrew Snell scored all five of his goals in the first half to help OESJ earn an 8-0 shutout of Doane Stuart in non-league action. Dylan Barnes, Baler Stowell and Kenton Schwasnick also scored.


Abigail Chest led Mayfield with two goals and an assist in the Panthers’ 4-2 win over Fonda-Fultonville in Western Athletic Conference girls’ soccer action. Madison Case and Cloey Dopp also scored, while Sallyann Agerter made eight saves for Mayfield.

Alex Moses scored twice to lead Duanesburg to a 4-1 victory over Fort Plain. Brooke Greco and Molly Laudato also scored for the Eagles, while Chloe Sickler scored for Fort Plain.

Stephanie Martin had a hat trick for Galway in the Golden Eagles’ 5-0 shutout of Middleburgh. Alaina Aschmutat added a goal and two assists, with Lilly Fredericks picking up the other goal. Anna Spadaro also had two assists. Kaylee Lawton and Olivia Skowfoe combined to make 16 saves for Middleburgh. Eibhleanna McElhinney stopped six for Galway.

Leah Valovic, Ahmya Tompkins and Ryann Morgan scored to lift Northville to a 3-0 win over Canajoharie. Sophia Reidell added two assists. Gretchen Forsey made two saves for the shutout.
