High schools: Johnstown boys’ basketball beats Queensbury in overtime

Johnstown outscored Queensbury 4-2 in overtime to pull out a 60-58 victory in Foothills Council boys’ basketball on Friday night.

Braden Jones led the Sir Bills with 21 points, Ryan Hoyt scored 16 and Matthew Wheelis added 13 points. Trevon Bailey led Queensbury with 18 points, and Ryan Blanchard scored 15.

Broadalbin-Perth trailed 27-22 at halftime, but outscored Scotia-Glenville 45-22 in the second half for a 67-49 victory.

Landon Russom led the Patriots with 24 points, Ryan Savoie had 16 points and Sam Hotaling scored 13. Eddie Bradt led the Tartans with 24 points.

Peyton Smith scored 23 points and Noah Williamson scored 18 as Hudson Falls defeated South Glens Falls 74-44 to improve to 8-1 in the Foothills Council and 12-2 overall.

In the Western Athletic Conference, Northville improved to 7-3 in the league and 12-3 overall with a 41-31 victory over Mayfield in a game that was tied through three quarters.

Evan Tamulaitis scored 17 points for Northville, and Jacob Frank scored 13. Trevor Ruberti led Mayfield with 12 points.

Galway topped Schoharie 57-39, as Josh Lovelass scored 25 points for Galway and Joe DeVellis added 10. Preston DiGiovanni led Schoharie with 18 points.

The one-two punch of AJ Wright (33 points) and Dayne Coates (22) was too much for Canajoharie, as Berne-Knox-Westerlo won 82-54. Antonio Fairley, who made 13 of 16 free throws, finished with 35 points for Canajoharie.
