Strong third-quarter defense led Broadalbin-Perth past Scotia-Glenville 57-42 in Foothills Council girls’ basketball action, overcoming 21 points from the Tartans’ Karaline McCarthy.
The Patriots led 29-25 at halftime, then held the Tartans to four points while scoring 17 in the third. Molly Russom scored eight of her team-high 15 points during the eight-minute span.
Queensbury stifled Johnstown 66-4, allowing all four points in the first quarter. Kendra Ballard scored 14 points for the Spartans. Dyllan Ray added 10, along with eight rebounds, six steals and five assists.
