While the Stillwater boys’ bowling team won the Section II Class C championship at Boulevard Bowl in Schenectady, totaling 5,870 pins, Canajoharie (5,172) and Fort Plain (5,148) claimed top five finishes. The Cougars and Hilltoppers finished fourth and fifth, respectively.
Canajoharie’s Tanner Ackernecht rolled the best game of the day, shooting 248. Fort Plain’s Anthony Paradiso shot the second-highest three-game series (674). Mayfield rounded out the top 10 and OESJ finished in 22nd.
Johnstown’s Darryn Fallis remains among the top six bowlers who make up the Section II team with one more day of competition. The Class A sectionals are Tuesday.
LADY BILLS FALL SHORT
Stillwater dominated the opening eight minutes, then steadily put away Johnstown 54-22 in non-league action. Miranda Price led the Warriors with 17 points. The Lady Bills’ Julie Hisert matched Price with 17 of her own.
