HIGH SCHOOLS – Garrett Jackowski went 3 for 3 with a double and three runs to lead Broadalbin-Perth to a 4-2 win over Gloversville in Foothills Council baseball action Wednesday. He also struck out six on the mound. Jake Alteri drove in two for the Patriots. Logan Oathout went 2 for 3 with a home run and an RBI for Gloversville.
Eric Zelezniak pitched a four-hitter with 10 strikeouts and also hit a home run as Galway defeated Duanesburg 5-1 in the Western Athletic Conference. Brian Brink went for 2 with three RBIs for Galway, which managed just four hits against Duanesburg pitcher Shane Wetherington, who struck out 12.
Mayfield scored five runs in the sixth to take a 7-4 win over Berne-Knox-Westerlo. Cameron Abdella struck out nine for the Panthers. Kristian Johnson had two singles and an RBI.
Jacob Walrath had two hits for OESJ in its 8-5 loss to Schoharie.
GALWAY BATS DO THE JOB
Galway totaled 12 hits, including three singles from Amber Kolpakas and a double and a single from Jayden Develis, and defeated Duanesburg 4-2 in Western Athletic Conference softball. Allison Mienaltowski went 3 for 4 with a double for Duanesburg.
Amanda Stalker had two home runs and seven RBIs to lead Schoharie to a 16-4 win over OESJ.
