High Schools: Johnstown bats lively in baseball win over Scotia-Glenville

HIGH SCHOOLS – Danny Brown went 3 for 5 with two doubles, four RBIs and two runs to lead Johnstown to a 13-5 win over Scotia-Glenville in Foothills Council baseball Thursday. Antonio DeMarco added two doubles, three RBIs and two runs, while PJ Yetto added two hits, two RBIs and two runs, while Vinnie Rizzo also had two hits and two runs. Zach Place and Kollum Greely led Scotia-Glenville with two hits each.

Alex Payne doubled and drove in a run as Gloversville topped Amsterdam 3-1. Kyle Robare drove in a run for the winners. Caelan Porter struck out nine. Manny Santos had a double, triple and drove in Amsterdam’s run. Kai Brennan fanned 10 for the Rams.

Brody Paige went 3 for 4 with a double, triple and two RBIs to lead Mayfield to an 11-5 win over Mekeel Christian in a Western Athletic Conference baseball game. Colin Handy doubled and drove in two for Mayfield, while Zachary Ginter had a triple and an RBI.

Fonda-Fultonville edged Broadalbin-Perth 4-3 in non-league action. Keegan Croucher and Jake Hernigle tripled for Fonda-Fultonville, while Cameron Daus fanned four in three innings. Ryan Savoie and TJ Platt doubled for Broadalbin-Perth.

BRAVES GET SHUTOUT

Fonda-Fultonville shut out OESJ 12-0. Carolyn Littrell hit a double for OESJ.
