RACING AROUND – With a big weekend of special racing events ahead, Lance Willix, A.J. Albreada, Bodie Marks, Luke Horning and Bruce Liddle kept their early-season momentum going forward at Glen Ridge Motorsports Park in Fultonville.

Willix captured his second-straight DIRTcar 358 modified feature win of the season Sunday night at The Ridge, while Albreada swept the dual All-Star Slingshot division features and Marks made it 3-for-3 in the Junior Slingshots. Horning kept his record perfect in the Pro Stock division with his second win in as many weeks as did Liddle in the Single Cam Mini Stock division.

Joining the quintet with victories Sunday night were Zach Buff (602 Crate Sportsman), Jason Samrov (Street Stock) and Dylan Grogan (Limited Sportsman), while Jay Ingersoll picked up his first win of the season in the Dual Cam Mini Stock feature.

Willix, Albreada and Marks will be counting on their experience on the fast 1/4 mile to benefit them as this Sunday’s DIRTcar 358 modified feature winner will earn a guaranteed starting spot in the 37th annual Outlaw 200 at Fulton Speedway on Sept. 30.

“We usually don’t go to that race because it is so close to Super DIRT Week and we are just trying to thrash and get a car together for that,” Willix said. “If we get that spot that might change our mind and we definitely will go. We will play it out like a regular race next week and see what happens.”

With the largest car count so far this season with more than 100 cars in the pit area, including 20 358s and 14 Pro Stocks on hand for the running of the headlining Silver Fox Showdown, The Ridge will be looking at the possibility of an even larger draw this week.

Along with the 358 modified feature, the All-Star and Junior Slingshot divisions will be running big money events.

The Northeast Paving & Sealcoat All-Star Slingshot division will compete in a $1,000-to-win feature event, while the Northeast Paving & Sealcoat Junior Slingshot division battle in a $300-to-win main event as part of a full regular race card.

The time schedule for the night’s events has been changed. The pit gates will open at 3 p.m. with a draw for time trials from 3 to 5 p.m. followed by a drivers meeting at 5 p.m. and hot laps scheduled for 5:30 p.m. and racing at 6 p.m. Front gates open at 4 p.m. and the Ridge is also offering free admission to veteran and active military for the show.
