Amsterdam Mohawks earns 30th win of PGCBL season

AMSTERDAM — The Amsterdam Mohawks earned their 30th PGCBL win on Monday in just their 34th game, topping Glens Falls 8-2 at Shuttleworth Park.

The Mohawks’ Jaxson West scored the first run in the bottom of the third inning by coming home on a passed ball.

In the fourth, Cam Gurney led off with a single, moved to second on an error and scored on Jalen DeBose’s single to make it a 2-0 Amsterdam lead.

Glens Falls tied it at 2 in the top of the sixth when Cory Listing hit a solo home run and Ryan Grace hit an RBI double.

Amsterdam answered in the bottom half of the inning, scoring three runs all with two outs. West singled in DeBose from second, and Bruer Webster had a two-run double.

In the seventh, Luke Longo singled, stole second and came around on a two-base error. Longo also delivered a two-run single in the eighth.

Tyler Sausville earned the pitching win.
