Several local riders notch wins at Royal Mountain

CAROGA LAKE — A total of 10 area riders picked up wins Wednesday during supercross competition at Royal Mountain Ski Area.

Amsterdam’s Joey Vitalis, Gloversville’s Sal Attigliato Jr., Fort Plain’s Ryelee David, Johnstown’s Ethan Cornell, Broadalbin’s Owen Marek, Mayfield’s Jack Battisti, Fort Plain’s Brody Zelezny, Johnstown’s Michael Ward, Northville’s Troy Palmer and St. Johnsville’s James Oeser Jr.

Attigliato won the 50cc open/E-bike 4-to-8-year-old and 50cc/E-bike 7-and-8-year-old classes. Attigliato also was second in the mini 60 7-to-11-year-old class.

Vitalis was third in his first moto and first in his second moto to win the 122-250 novice class.

David swept both motos to win the mini quad 50cc class, while Cornell claimed both motos to pick up the win in the mini quad 51-90cc class.

Marek and Battisti both swept their two motos to win the pit bike mod and pit bike stock classes, respectively.

Zelezny was second in the first moto and first in the second moto to win the plus-25 expert class, while Ward won both motos to win the plus-50 open class.

Palmer swept both motos to win the quad amateur class, while Oeser won the quad novice class.

After last weekend’s two-day Central New York Motocross Racers Association drew a total of 407 entries, there were 261 entries Wednesday.

In addition to Attigliato, five riders notched wins in multiple classes Wednesday.

Wallkill’s Cody Wagner won the 122-250 expert and 122-open expert classes, while Clifton Park’s Gavin Betts won the 122-250 amateur and schoolboy classes.

East Berne’s Finn Smith won the junior mini 9-to-11-year-old and mini 80 9-to-11-year-old classes, while Selkirk’s Hudson Vagele won the open mini 10-to-16-year-old and mini 80 12-to-15-year-old classes.

Bolton Landing’s Billy Douglas won the plus-25 amateur and plus-40 amateur classes.

Other winners included Middleburgh’s Derrick Fuller (122-open novice), Cobleskill’s Joseph Edwards (122-125 two-stroke), Corinth’s Colton Tubbs (50cc 4-6), Bennington, Vermont’s Tug Greenslet (collegeboy), East Nassau’s Aiden Held (mini 60 7-11), Ballston Spa’s Cody Milanese (quad expert), East Berne’s Alissa Duncan (quad schoolboy/girl), Schaghticoke’s Britney St. Gelais (women 85-250cc), and Dane Howe of Bennington, Vermont (122-open amateur)

Several area riders posted top-five finishes in their respective classes.

Johnstown’s Brennan Hart was second in the mini 80 9-to-11-year-old class.

In the mini quad 50cc class, Johnstown’s Anderson Giardino was second and Amsterdam’s Damion Brown was third.

St. Johnsville’s Blaire Wilson was fourth in the mini quad 51-90cc class, while St. Johnsville’s Hunter Hickey was fourth in the 122-open novice class.

In the mini 80 12-to-15-year-old class, Johnstown’s Maxx Miller was second and Johnstown’s Kip Simonds was third. Simonds also was third in the open mini 10-to-16-year-old class, while Miller was fourth.

Johnstown’s Sean Smith was fourth in the plus-25 amateur class. while St. Johnsville’s Burton Wilson IV was third in the 50cc/E-bike 7-and-8-year-old class.

Gloversville’s John Livingston was fourth in the 122-250 novice class and fifth in the schoolboy class.

Fort Plain’s Cooper Reynolds was fourth in the schoolboy class.

In the quad novice class, Palatine Bridge’s Roman Mancini was third, St. Johnsville’s James McNamara was fourth and Amsterdam’s Kolby Krutz was fifth.

Johnstown’s Joe Stanton was third in the plus-40 amateur class.

In the pit bike mod class, Fonda’s Ryan Cocker was second and Gloversville’s Kenny Holliday was third.
Broadalbin’s Grayson Guttenberg was second in the pit bike stock class, while Gloversville’s Matthew Livingston was fifth.

Johnstown’s Brett Unser was third in the 122-125 two-stroke class and third in the 122-250 amateur class.

Johnstown’s Adam Handy was fourth in the 122-open expert class and third in the plus-25 expert class.

Canajoharie’s C.J. Renzi was fourth in the 122-250 amateur class. Renzi also was second in the 122-open amateur class, while Fonda’s Charles Rose was third.

Amsterdam’s Maverick Manzer was second in the 50cc 4-to-6-year-old class, while Johnstown’s Sean Smith Jr. was fifth in the junior mini 9-to-11-year-old class.

Royal Mountain will be back in action next Wednesday with its weekly supercross event.
