FORT PLAIN – The Fort Plain boys and girls basketball teams will join other Section II teams in hosting Play4Kay and Coaches vs. Cancer game nights Tuesday as well as Friday.

The Pkay4Kay game is part of the Play4Kay Yow Cancer Fund initiative and the Jimmy V Cancer research program.

Both Kay Yow and Jim Valvano were basketball coaches at North Carolina State and both died after battles with cancer.

On Tuesday, the Fort Plain and Saratoga Catholic boys junior varsity teams will play at 6 p.m. followed by the varsity game at 7:30 p.m.

On Feb. 1, the girls junior varsity and varsity teams will play St. Johnsville with the JV game set for 6 p.m. and the varsity game set for 7:30 p.m.

The normal admission fee will be waived at both events in lieu of a donation to the Kay Yow Cancer Fund and the American Cancer Society. The games will be played in honor of or memory of all those who have battled or are battling cancer.
