Wells tops Ft. Plain in season opener

JOHNSTOWN — The Wells boys basketball team opened its season Saturday with a 56-44 victory over Fort Plain at the Coaches vs. Cancer Tip-Off Classic Saturday at Fulton-Montgomery Community College.

Justin Foster and Tre Zimmerman led the Indians (1-0) with 16 points apiece. Zimmerman added seven rebounds and two assists to his game stats, while Ryan Bolebruch had eight points and eight rebounds and Shane Kennedy chipped in with eight points and six rebounds. Coby Stuart added five assists and six points to the Indians attack.

Jackson Yacowenia led Fort Plain (0-1) with 11 points and Nate Florian finished with nine points.
