DeVoe leads SUNY Cobleskill in loss

COBLESKILL — The SUNY Cobleskill women’s softball team closed the 2017 season on Sunday dropping a pair of North Eastern Athletic Conference (NEAC) contests to the Wildcats of Penn College at Fighting Tiger Park by scores of 6-1 and 5-1. The Fighting Tigers close their season with a 3-29 overall record including a 2-22 mark in NEAC action while Penn College moves to 20-10 overall including a 16-5 record in conference play.

In the opener the Fighting Tiger offense could only scratch out three hits led by senior first baseman Jesse DeVoe of Gloversville who went 1-for-2 with a RBI in the game.

In the nightcap Cobleskill trailed 2-1 going into the top of the seventh inning when with two outs a pair of Fighting Tiger errors led to three unearned runs to give the Wildcats the victory.

DeVoe closed out her Fighting Tiger career with a solid effort at the plate going 1-fo-3 with a run scored in the game.
