AMSTERDAM — The City of Amsterdam’s 2017 Summer Camp will run for six and a half weeks starting July 5 and ending Aug. 18.
Camp will be held at the Youth Center at Bacon School at 40 Henrietta Blvd. in Amsterdam from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., Monday through Friday each week with pickup ending at 3:30 p.m.
There will be team building activities, sports fitness, nutrition education, and weekly pool visits.
Breakfast and lunch are included in the program, free of charge.
The camp is held for ages kindergarten and up, and children will be put in age appropriate groups led by certified camp counselors.
The new camp director this year is Stu Palczak, who has been a teacher at Amsterdam High School for almost 30 years and has coached track and field, indoor track, and cross country as well as running many sports camps over the years. He has received many awards and honors for his outstanding commitment and dedication to our community and youth.
