Broadalbin Beach plans to face Adirondack Park Agency board

NORTH BROADALBIN — State regulators could soon make a critical determination on the future of a long-cherished Great Sacandaga Lake site. Adirondack Park Agency officials in two weeks will hear updates regarding a controversial plan to revegetate the former site of Broadalbin Beach. Meeting materials will be uploaded to the APA’s website next Thursday, according to agency spokesperson Keith McKeever. APA board members may also rule on whether or not the proposal conforms to the agency's master plan. ALBANY — A former Franklin County legislator and state economic development official is the new executive director of the Adirondack Park Agency.The APA Board of Directors approved the appointment of Barbara Rice on Thursday.Gov. Kathy Hochul's announcement of the decision emphasized Rice's extensive background in government administration, land use planning and development.
