Gov. Kathy Hochul is warning New Yorkers that unhealthy air quality conditions are expected to remain into the weekend, but it’s still uncertain how it may affect the July 4 holiday. Speaking in New York City, the governor said the current winds bringing the smoke from the Canadian wildfires into New York should start to dissipate over the next few days, but it is impossible to predict anything further into the future. “Much of this weather is going to be lingering across the state all the way through tomorrow.
