Franchise eying Johnstown for new Popeyes location

JOHNSTOWN — Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen could be making its way into Fulton County. Liberty Restaurant Development recently submitted site plans to build a new location for the popular bayou-themed fried chicken joint in Johnstown. If ultimately OK’d by local planning officials, the establishment projects to be open for business at some point within the last fiscal quarter of this year — this fall — or first of 2024 — next winter. Currently, the closest Popeyes to twin cities residents is 11 miles away in Amsterdam.
