Gillibrand, Schumer shortlist $2.5 million for Caroga amphitheater

CAROGA — U.S. Sens. Kirsten Gillibrand and Chuck Schumer have requested $2.5 million in federal appropriations that could account for the rest of the monies needed to fund amphitheater construction expenses at the former Sherman’s Amusement Park on Caroga Lake. Caroga Arts Collective began a fundraising campaign for the $4 million project in June of 2022. A major jumping off point, the New York State Council on the Arts awarded CAC $1 million last year.
