Gloversville mayor envisions Trail Station Park expansion done by fall

GLOVERSVILLE — After three years of delays, Trail Station Park in Gloversville has a new splash pad. The long-awaited Frontage Street project recently opened amid high temperatures and oppressive humidity gripping the Mohawk Valley. "It's been a real hit," said Mayor Vincent DeSantis. "A lot of people have been there almost all day, every day." GLOVERSVILLE — A mixed-income housing development in Gloversville is finally fully funded.Kearney Development Group has received $7 million in tax credits and program funding from the state for Glove City Lofts, the Fulton County Center for Regional Growth announced on Monday.Newly awarded sources range from $2,550,000 to $300,000, fully funding a $21.2 million capital investment, which includes demolition of an existing building across from City Hall. Respective allotments ranging from $5,000 to $100,000 would be channeled primarily into small-scale building renovations, including storefront facelifts and HVAC upgrades.
