GLOVERSVILLE — Rockets will not soar over Gloversville during Railfest for the first time this year in response to concerns from a local animal shelter. Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (SPCA) volunteers for years have relocated dogs during firework displays, a common stressor for dogs and cats. Because of the recent boom in admissions, shelter president Renee Earl said relocation efforts have become markedly arduous."It's not that difficult to do when there are only four or five animals," Earl said.
