GLOVERSVILLE - U.S. Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer joined hospital officials Monday at Nathan Littauer Hospital in Gloversville to urge federal officials to immediately take action to address the cancer and generic drug shortage currently being experienced nationwide. Schumer, a Democrat, is calling on the federal Food and Drug Administration to take immediate action to mitigate the problem and is urging Congress to bring to a vote his legislative package that aims to repair the nation’s drug supply chain.  It includes demanding more transparency from drug manufacturers, increasing production, improving production safety requirements and incentivizing domestic manufacturing.  Speaking in Gloversville…
