CAPITAL REGION - With school ending, free summer meal programs for area youth have started to pop up throughout the region, with additional sites expected to be added as the summer progresses.Schenectady Community Ministries started distributing free lunches to area youth on Monday, marking the 29th consecutive year for the program, which typically delivers thousands of meals to hundreds of children and area youth 18 and under. This year’s program will see meals served in a congregate setting instead of the grab-and-go model that SiCM utilized during the pandemic.
