DA: Man convicted of murder in 2021 Gloversville stabbing death of neighbor

JOHNSTOWN - A Gloversville man was convicted Friday in the March 2021 stabbing death of a man in Gloversville, Fulton County District Attorney's officials said. Adam W. Mitchell, 53, of Gloversville, was found guilty of one count of second-degree murder in the death of 39-year-old Joseph Robert Hoyt, prosecutors said. Mitchell now faces up to 25 years to life in prison at his sentencing in August. The Fulton County Court jury returned its verdict at about 2 p.m. Friday, after about 10 hours of deliberations in the case, prosecutors said.
