JOHNSTOWN — Local authorities allegedly found drugs and weapons aplenty stashed in a vehicle on state Highway 30A last week.Fulton County Sheriff deputies at a Johnstown traffic stop in the wee hours of last Wednesday discovered that John E. Eschler III, 34, was reportedly driving with a suspended license. He also had numerous warrants against him, including a felony warrant from Virginia, according to a press release.In the car with Eschler was 27-year-old Danielle Lasher of St. Johnsville. Fulton County Sheriff investigating death of man, 71, after Mountain Lake canoe capsized in town of Johnstown

TOWN OF JOHNSTOWN -- The Fulton County Sheriff's Office is investigating the death of a man canoeing on Mountain Lake Sunday evening, officials said. The man, identified as 71-year-old Queensbury resident Donald Davidson, "expired shortly after an incident wherein the canoe he was in capsized on Mountain Lake," sheriff's officials said in a release issued Monday afternoon. The release did not provide further information surrounding the incident. An autopsy has been ordered by the coroner's office, officials said. More information would be provided when the investigation concludes, officials said.
