BLEECKER - A Fulton County father of a 2-month-old son and volunteer coach at FMCC died Thursday night after his snowmobile broke through the ice on Peck Lake, Fulton County Sheriff Richard Giardino said Friday. Giardino identified the snowmobiler who died as Todd Wheaton, who was in his early 40s and from Fulton County. Divers recovered Wheaton's body at about 5 a.m. Friday morning, Giardino said. TOWN OF JOHNSTOWN -- The Fulton County Sheriff's Office is investigating the death of a man canoeing on Mountain Lake Sunday evening, officials said. The man, identified as 71-year-old Queensbury resident Donald Davidson, "expired shortly after an incident wherein the canoe he was in capsized on Mountain Lake," sheriff's officials said in a release issued Monday afternoon. The release did not provide further information surrounding the incident. An autopsy has been ordered by the coroner's office, officials said. More information would be provided when the investigation concludes, officials said.
