JOHNSTOWN - A Gloversville man attempted to strike a sheriff's patrol car and then led authorities on a chase from Johnstown to Fonda early Friday, Fulton County Sheriff's officials said Tuesday. No injuries were reported in the incident, but the man is accused of attempting to hit other vehicles during the chase, officials said. Steven G. Horton, 30, of Gloversville, was ultimately arrested in Fonda, just before 1:30 a.m., with the help of Montgomery County Sheriff's deputies deflating Horton's tires with "stop sticks," a deflation device, officials said. Fulton County Sheriff investigating death of man, 71, after Mountain Lake canoe capsized in town of Johnstown

TOWN OF JOHNSTOWN -- The Fulton County Sheriff's Office is investigating the death of a man canoeing on Mountain Lake Sunday evening, officials said. The man, identified as 71-year-old Queensbury resident Donald Davidson, "expired shortly after an incident wherein the canoe he was in capsized on Mountain Lake," sheriff's officials said in a release issued Monday afternoon. The release did not provide further information surrounding the incident. An autopsy has been ordered by the coroner's office, officials said. More information would be provided when the investigation concludes, officials said.
