Galway school board dismisses complaints to ban 2 books

GALWAY — A thundering applause erupted from the crowd of over 60 people inside Galway Jr./Sr. High School auditorium following a 6-1 vote by the Board of Education to dismiss two complaints asking the board to ban two books from the school curriculum. Board member David Page was the only person to vote in favor of banning the books, but did not provide any comment prior to the vote. Following the meeting, school spokesperson Tara Sullivan indicated that Page had wanted more information on the books. The complaints were against the book “The 57 Bus: A True Story of Two Teenagers and the Crime…
