Kathy Hochul said the federal government promised to provide personnel, data and resources to address the migrant crisis that has overwhelmed New York. AMSTERDAM — Several Amsterdam motels declined requests from New York City to house asylum seekers, Amsterdam Mayor Michael Cinquanti learned late last week. He declined to specify which businesses were contacted, but noted that they were all comparable in size to a Rotterdam motel discovered last Wednesday housing migrants under a deal with New York City.
