ALBANY – As the state continues to struggle to deal with the migrant crisis and a halt on the state’s fledgling cannabis industry, Gov. Kathy Hochul told reporters on Thursday that she is weighing several options to deal with the issues, including recalling the state Legislature for a special session this fall. The state’s legislative session typically runs from January through June, but members can be recalled to Albany by the governor if they believe circumstances require it. ALBANY — Gov. Kathy Hochul signed two bills on Thursday to expand access to student governments and advanced placement courses for public school students in New York.
