ALBANY - The Capital Region has received $44.5 million in state funds to rehabilitate and replace bridges and culverts under a state program that aims at helping local governments strengthen their infrastructure. The Mohawk Valley region received $35.2 million.A total of 141 local governments throughout the state received $516 million provided through the state’s BRIDGE NY initiative. The program supports infrastructure projects that combat climate change by reducing flood risk, improves the resiliency of structures and prioritizes projects that benefit environmental justice communities.
