JOHNSTOWN - A math teacher at Johnstown Jr.-Sr. High School was killed Thursday evening in a bicycle-car collision, Greater Johnstown Superintendent William Crankshaw said in a letter to parents Friday. "It is with a heavy heart that I let you know that Mr. Russell (Russ) Snyder, a mathematics teacher at Johnstown Jr.-Sr. High School, died Thursday evening from injuries sustained in a tragic bicycle accident," Crankshaw wrote. NELLISTON - A Palatine Bridge man has been arrested after Montgomery County Sheriff's deputies responded to a reported baseball bat assault in Nelliston Tuesday, sheriff's officials said. CANAJOHARIE - Dead animals and underfed animals were found on a Canajoharie farm recently and the owner was arrested, Montgomery County Sheriff's officials said. The investigation led to the seizure of more than 40 cattle, 13 donkeys and eight miniature horses, all of which have been relocated to other farms to be evaluated, officials said.
