ADIRONDACKS — A new report released Monday found Adirondack Park and the High Peaks are showing signs of ecological stress and damage due to the increased number of visitors in recent years. The report was commissioned in early 2021 and was conducted by Otak, a research, planning and design firm. It found that high levels of foot trail traffic in parts of the High Peaks has diminished the sense of solitude typically found in other more remote wilderness areas.
