JOHNSTOWN — Johnstown city lawmakers are hesitant to give the go-ahead for destroying an old bridge on state Highway 334. The Common Council earlier this week voted to table a measure allowing the Department of Transportation to remove the low-clearance structure near Fonda as a means of reducing traffic collisions. Since 1991, that stretch of railroad property has been co-managed on and off by a corporate board of Gloversville and Johnstown city lawmakers.
