MAYFIELD - A Mayfield man drowned Friday on Sacandaga Lake after saving his child, who had been struggling to swim, state police said. Albert Adamkoski, 47, of Mayfield jumped into the water from a pontoon boat to rescue the child. After saving the child with assistance from another bystander, Adamkoski submerged into the water and did not resurface, state police said, citing their preliminary investigation.
