Northampton man faces felony assault count after fight, order of protection violation, troopers say

NORTHAMPTON - A Northampton man struck and injured someone with a household item and violated an order of protection Sunday, New York State Police said. Thomas E. Lamphear Jr., 47, of Northamption, was arrested and charged with second-degree assault and first-degree criminal contempt, felonies, along with misdemeanor weapons possession, police said. Troopers responded to the Northampton home just before 7 p.m. Sunday for reports of a physical altercation with injuries, police said.
