FONDA — Peace activists and scholars will make their way to Fonda this weekend as the Kateri Tekakwitha Peace Conference meets for its 25th year. This year’s two-day-long conference will focus on the theme of progressing past the use of war in order to protect the planet, protect life and, ultimately, protect peace. “We live in a war culture and most people are quite unaware of what’s going on,” said John Amidon, one of the organizers of the conference and a Marine Corp veteran.
