GLOVERSVILLE - U.S. Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer joined hospital officials Monday at Nathan Littauer Hospital in Gloversville to urge federal officials to immediately take action to address the cancer and generic drug shortage currently being experienced nationwide. Schumer, a Democrat, is calling on the federal Food and Drug Administration to take immediate action to mitigate the problem and is urging Congress to bring to a vote his legislative package that aims to repair the nation’s drug supply chain.  It includes demanding more transparency from drug manufacturers, increasing production, improving production safety requirements and incentivizing domestic manufacturing.  Speaking in Gloversville…

GLOVERSVILLE - U.S. Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer has announced New York state will receive $664,618,251 million in federal funding to expand high-speed broadband services throughout the state. The funding is provided through the Bipartisan Infrastructure Investment & Jobs Act and, according to Schumer’s office, is the largest single investment for broadband in the state’s history.  A 2021 report conducted by the state Department of Education found half of New York’s lowest income residents do not have broadband subscriptions and half of those do not own a computer.
