AMSTERDAM — A woman was taken into custody Sunday for allegedly carrying out a mid-afternoon shooting at Veterans Park in Amsterdam.  Police were called in at 3:20 p.m., one minute after the shooting took place. The unidentified victim, also a woman, was taken to Albany Medical Center with what are believed to be non-life threatening emergencies, according to police. The alleged perpetrator, who possessed a handgun, remained on the scene and surrendered to police, said Amsterdam police Lt. Joe Spencer.
