BROADALBIN — Within moments, John Lawrence grabbed a garden hose on Sunday night and started spraying down a stove aflame in his neighbor's Broadalbin house. He stood around the doorway at 117 Benedict Loop for about 10 minutes before fire crews arrived. "If he didn't do that, it would've been gone," said Rachel Kasierski, one of the occupants who wasn't home at the time. A fry pot caught aflame around 7:10 p.m. while Kasierski's son Will was away from the stove.
