JOHNSTOWN —Former Mayfield town leader, teacher and community figurehead Sylvia Gilbert Parker was recently honored by Fulton County officials. Parker died on Feb. 6 at 88 years old.“I didn’t know anyone that didn’t like Sylvia and didn’t stop to talk to her,” said Mayfield Supervisor Rick Argotsinger.Earlier this week, the 19-member Board of Supervisors passed a resolution in memory of the former official.
