Siena Poll: Upstate CEO optimism sinks back to COVID-19 low

LOUDONVILLE — Top bosses across upstate New York have a bleak view of the state's business climate, the Siena Research Institute found in a recently-released poll. Roughly one in five CEOs believe that business conditions are improving and will continue to progress. Meanwhile, 54% — up from 41% last year — expect worsening conditions. Approximately 38% of those polled expect revenues to increase, a nine-point decrease from yesteryear. ALBANY — Forty-eight hours after the snowflakes stopped falling, the lights were back on just about everywhere.At midday Thursday, National Grid said it was down to 3,300 homes and businesses without electricity from a peak of 234,500 knocked out by Tuesday’s storm.
