Hochul appoints longtime Assembly aide as new state budget director

Gov. Kathy Hochul announced Thursday that Blake Washington will be the next state budget director. Washington has worked as a budget advisor in the state Assembly for more than 20 years and previously served as the chamber’s director of budget studies and legislative budget analyst.  In late February, Robert Megna took a leave as president of the Rockefeller Institute of Government in order to stepped back into the role. He previously served in the role under the Cuomo and Paterson administrations. Megna replaced Sandra Beattie.
