Gov. Kathy Hochul announced on Wednesday the appointment of Dianne T. Renwick to become presiding justice in the Appellate Division for the First Department of the state Supreme Court. She will be the first woman of color to hold the seat since its creation in 1894. Renwick has served as acting presiding justice since March.
