Library to launch new branding campaign

JOHNSTOWN — The Johnstown Public Library will host an open house from 6-8 p.m. Thursday to launch it’s new branding campaign.

The event at the 38 S. Market St. library is free and open to the public.

Shelley Yerdon, president of the library’s Board of Trustees, stated in a news release: “This fall, the library held a series of focus groups to gather input for our new brand. What became clear from the results is that the community sees the library as a place of new beginnings — for toddlers learning to read to retired adults forging be adventures.”

She said the library’s new tagline is “It All Begins Here.” The new logo includes a visual interpretation of the library’s entrance sitting at the foothills of the Adirondacks.

The open house will unveil a series of posters featuring the new branding and patrons speaking about the importance of the library. The branding campaign also includes bookmarks and a video.
