Heather Locklear charged with battery
VENTURA, Calif. (AP) — Heather Locklear has been charged with several counts of battery against first responders who answered a domestic violence call at her Southern California home.
The 56-year-old “Melrose Place” actress was charged Monday with four misdemeanor counts of battery on an officer or emergency personnel, and one misdemeanor count of resisting or obstructing an officer.
Sheriff’s officials said Locklear kicked, pushed and shouted at deputies who were answering a report that she had been violent with her boyfriend Feb. 26. No domestic violence charges have been filed.
Locklear’s representatives did not immediately reply to requests for comment.
She’s scheduled for arraignment Tuesday in Ventura County Superior Court.
Defendants in misdemeanor cases generally do not have to appear in person if they are represented by an attorney.
Production company adopts inclusion rider
LOS ANGELES (AP) — Prominent producers and celebrities like Matt Damon, Ben Affleck and Paul Feig are jumping on the inclusion rider bandwagon following Frances McDormand’s best actress Oscar acceptance speech.
Fanshen Cox DiGiovanni said late Monday on Twitter that Damon and Affleck’s production company Pearl Street Films would be adopting the inclusion rider in conjunction with USC’s Annenberg Inclusion Initiative .
Early Tuesday, “Bridesmaids” director Paul Feig followed suit saying on Twitter that his company is also going forward with the inclusion rider for all film and television productions.
“Black Panther” actor Michael B. Jordan was one of the first to lend his public support to the concept after the Oscars for his company.
Comey to appear on ‘The View’
NEW YORK (AP) — Fired FBI Director James Comey is scheduled to appear on ABC’s “The View.”
Host Whoopi Goldberg on Tuesday announced that Comey will participate in his first daytime talk show interview on April 18. Goldberg says they’ll have a lot to talk about.
The appearance will come after an April 15 interview on the network’s “20/20” program before Comey’s book, “A Higher Loyalty,” is released.
Republican President Donald Trump fired Comey last May. Comey has since made his personal feelings about Trump known, testifying in detail about personal interactions he says troubled him.
