Brian Wilson delays tour for mental health

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Beach Boys singer Brian Wilson has postponed his June tour over mental health concerns.

Wilson, 76, said in a statement Thursday that he postponed the Pet Sounds and Greatest Hits Live tour after a recent surgery caused him to feel “mentally insecure.”

The singer says he’s dealt with mental illness for decades and it’s become “unbearable” at times. He had three successful surgeries on his back in the past year, but the latest one made him feel “strange” and turned “pretty scary.”

Wilson says he was recording and rehearsing with the intentions of touring. But his mental health issues returned, and he says he struggled with “stuff in my head and saying things I don’t mean and I don’t know why.”

Wilson plans to work with his doctors, rest and recover.

Son of singer dies after accident

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — Country singer Granger Smith says that his youngest son, River Kelly Smith, has died after an undisclosed accident.

In a statement put out Thursday through his label, Smith said that after doctors were unable to revive the 3-year-old, the family decided to donate his organs to other children.

Smith says that the family was heartbroken, but took solace that River was with God. The family asked that donations be made to Dell Children’s Medical Center of Central Texas.

Smith, who is signed to Broken Bow Records, has released songs “If The Boot Fits,” ‘’Backroad Song” and “Happens Like That.” He and his wife, Amber, also have another son and a daughter.

Details of the Jonas and Turner wedding

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — How secretive was the wedding of Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner? So secretive that even performers Dan + Shay didn’t tell their own significant others.

The country duo kept their own wives in the dark that they were singing at the secret ceremony at the Little White Chapel in Las Vegas on May 1.

Actress Turner and Jonas, part of the pop act The Jonas Brothers, are pals with Dan + Shay, who sang “Speechless” for the couple.

Shay Mooney, half of Dan + Shay, called it the “craziest couple of hours of our lives.”
